The mission of the CHIME “Healthcare’s Most Wired” program is to elevate the health and care of communities around the world by encouraging the optimal use of information technology. The program does this by conducting an annual survey to identify, recognize, and certify the adoption, implementation, and use of information technology by healthcare provider organizations. The results are intended to improve patient safety and outcomes by driving change in the healthcare IT industry.
This year, CHIME’s “Healthcare’s Most Wired” program incorporated certification levels to allow organizations to better benchmark their level of adoption and outcomes achieved. Monmouth Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, RWJUH New Brunswick and Saint Barnabas Medical Center received Performance Excellence Award certification. This level of certification recognizes healthcare organizations that are being leaders in healthcare technology who actively push the industry forward by not only implementing advanced technologies but leveraging these technologies in innovative ways and encouraging deep adoption across their organization. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Community Medical Center, RWJUH Hamilton, Clara Maass Medical Center, RWJUH Somerset, Jersey City Medical Center, RWJUH Rahway and the RWJBarnabas Health Medical Groups received Quality Award certification for adopting technologies and strategies that aid in achieving meaningful clinical and efficiency outcomes.
