"Romantic Heartthrobs of the 19th Century" at Livingston Library

The Livingston Public Library will present “Romantic Heartthrobs of the 19th Century,” with Jessica Davy for Senior Happening on Friday, November 20th. Seniors are invited to bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy coffee and dessert between 12:00 noon and 12:45 p.m. The program starts at 1:00 p.m.
Discover the music of Beethoven, Brahms, Wagner, Tchaikovsky and more with Jessica Davy, a clarinetist, composer and educator, who has had her work performed throughout the East Coast, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall. Learn how these composers broke with classical tradition and developed a new style.
Fall in love with the music of the great 19th Century Composers and learn how the world of music changed after Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. From intimate chamber music in salons, to the large orchestration of symphonies, and tremendous variety in opera, and ballet -- uncover the beauty and passion from the Romantic Era. In this presentation Jessica will lead the audience through an exploration of the music of Beethoven, Brahms, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky Korsakov, and more!
