As commemorations of the ninth anniversary of 9/11 were held across the nation and tri-state area on Saturday, Livingston marked the day with a "Ceremony of Remembrance" at the the township's 9/11 Living Memorial Garden on the Oval.
Scores of residents attended the ceremony, which included remarks by Mayor Arlene Johnson and from family members of victims. Bells were tolled in honor of the men and women that Livingston lost on 9/11. Eight white roses were placed at the base of the monument in the center of the garden. Livingston's monument is constructed of steel that was removed from Ground Zero.
