Rabbi Kulwin recently returned with a Temple B’nai Abraham group from a mission to Eastern Europe called “ In the Shadow of the Holocaust.” The goal of the mission was to visit three centers of Nazi terror – Krakow, Prague and Berlin – and learn in each what happened before, during and after. Some of the tour highlights were Krakow- Auschwitz/Birkenau, Warsaw-/Mila18/Ghetto Heroes Memorial; Prague/Theresienstadt, Dresden and Berlin-Memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe, the Reichstag as well as attending services at the restored Pestilozzistrasse Synagogue one where Rabbi Joachim Prinz (past spiritual leader of Temple B’nai Abraham from 1939-1977) would have led services on occasion.
