ShopRite Shopper Picked Wrong Time To Shoplift: Livingston Police
The Livingston police were called to several incidents at the Livingston Mall and ShopRite in the past week, they said.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston police responded to several incidents at the Livingston Mall and at ShopRite last week. They were:

Police were at ShopRite on a call at 11:18 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, when loss prevention officers notified them that a known recent shoplifter was currently in the store shopping.

The man, later identified as a 62-year-old from Irvington, left the store without paying for $84.25 in groceries, police said.
Police took the man into custody. He was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.

At The Mall
A week ago Monday, Sept. 12, at 3:50 p.m., Livingston officers responded to Macy’s at the Livingston Mall on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, Macy’s Loss Prevention had a South Orange woman, 57, in custody. She hid more than $200 in clothing in her purse and exited the store without paying, police said. She was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.
Last Tuesday at 2:42 p.m., Livingston officers responded to Macy’s at the Livingston Mall on a shoplifting report. Macy’s Loss Prevention had a woman, 45, from Orange, in custody for shoplifting $85 in clothing in a brown bag. She was charged with shoplifting and released.
The same day, at 5:15 p.m., Livingston officers responded to Macy’s on a report of a shoplifter in custody. Macy’s Loss Prevention had a 21-year-old woman from Ithaca, N.Y. in custody. Staff said she hid $300 in jewelry and left the store. She was charged with shoplifting and released on a summons.
