Single-Car Accident Breaks Telephone Pole

Route 10 eastbound will become one-lane due to minor car accident.

Livingston police are investigating a single-car accident that knocked down a telephone poll Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of West Mount Pleasant Avenue by Evergreen Avenue. A car traveling east hit and knocked down the telephone poll, Det. Sgt. Anthony Dippold said.

It was unclear what was the cause of the accident, but at least one person in the car was taken to Saint Barnabas Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries, Dippold said.

The telephone poll did not break electric wires and Jersey Central Power and Light will work on repairs, Dippold said.

Traffic traveling east on West Mount Pleasant Avenue will be reduced to one lane for several hours to clear the site, Dippold said.
