Skate Park to Open June 10

Register to skate at the new facility.

Skaters, get ready.  The Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of Livingston's Skate Park is set for June 10 at 6 p.m.. The Skate Park is adjacent to the police department and West Essex YMCA on Livingston Avenue.

At the opening, there will be a skating demonstration; participants will have the chance to be the first "official" skater on the park.

Skaters who wish to skate on opening night must be registered prior to the opening of the park.  Registration must be done in person between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays at the Senior/Community Center located in the Senior, Youth and Leisure Services (SYLS) Department. 

Registration forms will also be available at the Haines Memorial Pool Open House (next to  the High School parking lot) on Saturday, June 5 from 2 to 5 p.m., Skaters can get a sneak peek of the completed park from June 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. and also register then and on Wednesday, June 9 at the skate park.   Registration will also take place at the grand opening. Participants under the age of 18 must register with a parent present to sign a liability waiver.   Registration is free.
