So You Want To Hold A Raffle In Livingston: What To Know For 2026

All raffles and bingos held in Livingston must be licensed by the Township Clerk's Department.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The following news release comes courtesy of the Township of Livingston. Find out how to post announcements or events to your local Patch site.

The Township of Livingston reminds community members that all raffles and bingos held within Livingston must be licensed by the Township of Livingston Clerk’s Department. In order to ensure receiving a raffle/bingo license in time for a scheduled event, all necessary items must be submitted to the clerk’s office at least six weeks prior to the event.

Any nonprofit organization may apply for a raffle/bingo license; however, the applicant must have a current biennial registration ID from the state of New Jersey in order to apply.

The Raffle and Bingo Application Packets and Background/License Record Check Form can be accessed through livingstonnj.org/Licenses.

The following must be submitted in order to secure a license:

  • Completed Raffle/Bingo Application Packet: 3 copies, each notarized
    • Sample raffle tickets should be attached to the application for off-premises games
  • Original Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission (LGCCC) License
    • The Clerk’s office must see the original license, which must be current; a copy will not be accepted
  • Completed Background/License Record Check Forms
    • Background/License Record Check Forms must be completed by the applicant’s local (home town) police department
    • Completed background check forms must be submitted for all members listed on the application in Parts F and G — Officers of Applicant and Members of Applicant who will be in charge of the games, respectively. (It is permissible to have only one person signed up in Part F in charge of the games).
  • Payment by check to Township of Livingston
    • Fees can be found in the Raffle/Bingo Application Packet (available online at livingstonnj.org/Licenses)
    • Two separate checks must be submitted to:
      • Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission
      • Township of Livingston
