Son of Township Attorney Dies in Plane Crash

Services are Thursday for Andrew Jay Weiner, 39.

Livingston township council on Monday night observed a moment of silence for Andrew Jay Weiner, the son of township attorney Sharon Weiner, who died while piloting his own plane.

Investigators said Weiner, 39, and his friend Jacobe Daniel Foster, 32, of San Francisco, crashed Friday night in the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Their single-engine Cirrus SR20 was flying from Rock Hill, S.C., to Henderson, Nevada, where Weiner lived.

Weiner is the son of Sharon Weiner, who served as Mayor of Livingston in 1986. She has been the Livingston township attorney since 2002.
