LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Town Council meet for the last time in 2022 on Thursday morning to vote on a corrective action plan for their finances. The meeting is virtual only.
Each year, the town accepts an audit for the end of the year. Last year's audit uncovered some discrepancies in recorded funds for several departments.
The council will vote on a plan "to correct audit findings contained in the independent auditors’ report for the year ended Dec. 31, 2021."

Among findings and suggested corrections in the audit:

- "Public Works: Revenue collections in the cash receipts book did not agree to the Tax Collector’s records. Recommendation: More care be taken in maintaining the cash receipts book for Public Works Department and that collections be reconciled to the records of the Tax Collector on a monthly basis.
