Spectrum of Options Seminar: Managing Behaviors
The Children's Institute presents a free seminar open to the community, presented by Dr. Bobby Newman, Ph.D, BCBA-D.
As part of its annual free Spectrum of Options Seminar Series, The Children’s Institute will present “Managing Behaviors” on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The seminar will be held at The Children’s Institute’s Verona Campus, 1 Sunset Ave. Verona, NJ.
In order to create successful behavior treatment plans, one must first determine the function of the behavior. At this seminar, attendees will learn about ways to determine the function of a behavior, as well as some common mistakes that are made when trying to identify the function of the behavior. The importance of careful observation and fact-based decision-making will be emphasized. A question and answer period will be part of the workshop, which is appropriate for parents, teachers and other professionals in practice and in training.
The speaker, Dr. Bobby Newman is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Psychologist. Affectionately known as the Dark Overlord of ABA, Dr. Newman is the first author on twelve books regarding behavior therapy, the philosophy of behaviorism, autism spectrum disorders, and utopian literature. He has published over two-dozen articles in professional journals, as well as numerous popular magazine articles and has hosted two radio call-in series. He is the Past-President of the Association for Science in Autism Treatment and the New York State Association for Behavior Analysis.
