Star-Ledger: Livingston Player Among Devils' Prospects

Peter McMullen gets his tryout at rookie camp.

Peter McMullen, a left winger who played for the c, is at New Jersey Devils rookie camp this week.

The Star-Ledger reports that McMullen was seven years old when the Devils won their second Stanley Cup in 2000. His grandfather, Dr. John McMullen, owned the team back then.

“I remember winning the Cup in 2000. I remember watching it with my grandpa at home. I have a lot of memories going to all the games, so it’s really exciting to be here now,” said McMullen, 18, after taking part in the first day of Devils prospects camp.

McMullen, from Livingston, is the son of longtime Devils executive vice-president Peter McMullen. When he was not drafted last month, the former Delbarton star was invited to prospects camp. “I never expected to be here when I was a little kid,” he told the Star-Ledger.
