Supporting People with Disabilities: Employment, Housing, Community
PFP has helped several people, with the mission to "partner with people with disabilities and people with other challenges.

Partnerships for People, Inc. (PFP) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit, NJ community based organization with over three decades of success, servicing people with disabilities and other challenges. Using a person-centered approach, PFP provides Supported Employment, Housing, In-Home/Community Supports, and Behavioral Care.
In the past 32 years, PFP has helped several people, with the mission to “partner with people with disabilities and people with other challenges to build relationships and develop skills to love and work as valued members of their communities.”
Charlene is one of the many people that have found competitive employment through PFP. Charlene is a very enthusiastic person who loves to talk about her job, a busser at AMC Dine-In Theatres. Her favorite part about the job is that she gets to watch movies for free, but she also enjoys how helpful her job coach and fellow colleagues are. Whether it is making popcorn or maintaining the appearance of AMC, her colleagues will give her hints and tricks to getting the job done. Charlene’s previous employment experience included working in the food service industry. Charlene’s job coach assisted her in obtaining employment based off of her skills and her interests. She enjoys movies, working with people, and preparing food.
Supported employment involves a process of meeting with individuals, determining the best type of employment, developing resumes and cover letters, preparing for the interview, and continued support while learning the ropes of a new job. Jobs placements are based on the individual’s interests, skills, abilities, and experiences. Retail, customer service, administrative, and social services are some of the many fields that PFP has placed individuals.
With support from Partnerships for People, more individuals with disabilities are finding a job, a place to call home, and becoming integrated within their community. Partnerships for People is a partner for life.
