Three Men Shot To Death Over 4 Days In Newark, Including On Christmas
Three men were shot on separate days in one city in Essex County, including on Christmas Day.
NEWARK, NJ — Three men were shot to death in separate incidents in Newark over four days, including on Christmas Day, prosecutors said.
On Dec. 22, Rodney Wrice, 27, of Newark, was found on the 200 block of Springfield Ave. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police responded at 9:52 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at University Hospital at 10:28 p.m., according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
The next day, Newark police responded at 6:13 p.m. to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Mountainview Avenue. They found Kareem Abdul Jarmon Guilford Jr., 22, of East Orange, suffering from a gunshot wound, prosecutors said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:34 p.m.

On Christmas Day, Newark police responded at 1:28 p.m. to a report of a shooting on the 300 block of Clinton Avenue.
Officers found Ridge Scott, 34, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, they said. He was taken to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 2:01 p.m.

The three deaths were the 64th, 65th and 66th homicides in Newark this year, a Prosecutor's Office spokeperson said.
