Thunderstorms And Heavy Rain Possible For Livingston Friday: Find Out When, How Much

LIVINGSTON, NJ —Weather-wary Essex County residents may want to keep an eye on the forecast for Friday morning. The forecast calls for possible thunderstorms and "heavy rainfall" before 1 p.m., but there was no flood watch in effect for the area as of Thursday.

The prediction is that the area may get .75 inches to 1 inch of rain on Friday. For comparison's sake, parts of Essex County received 6 to 9 inches of rain quickly during Hurricane Ida in September.

Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 p.m, then showers likely. Some of
the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 64. South wind 7 to 16 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before 7 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low
around 40. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near
58. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the
morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming clear. Lows in the upper 30s.
