Two Men Arrested In Separate Incidents In Livingston Last Weekend

Livingston police arrested and charged two men in different incidents last weekend.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A man was arrested last Saturday and charged with providing false information to the Livingston police.

The police said that on April 22, at 5:03 p.m., Livingston officers stopped a Dodge Durango at the intersection of West Mount Pleasant Ave and Hazel Ave for several motor vehicle violations.

The passenger, later identified as Miguel Avila, 23, from Paterson, "initially gave officers a false name to conceal his identity from an active warrant out for his arrest," police said.

He was identified and charged with hindering apprehension and with the outstanding warrant.

He was eventually released on a summons with a new court date for his outstanding warrant.

Attempted Burglary to Vehicles

On Monday, at 2:02 a.m., Livingston officers responded to the area of East Cedar Street and Dorrien Road on a report that someone was running from a vehicle with its flashers on.

Police said they arrested Kashawn Gardner, 19, from East Orange. They charged him with criminal attempted burglary. They said that he had attempted to burglarize two vehicles at a Dorrien Road residence.

He was released on a summons.
