Two Separate But Related Accidents Result in Minor Injuries; Traffic Delay on East Northfield

The following information has been provided by the Livingston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two separate but related accidents on Monday afternoon sent one woman to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and caused an hour-long traffic delay at the intersection of East Northfield Road and Schindler Way.

According to Det. Sgt. Anthony Dippold, the series of events began when Barbara Levin, 59, was reportedly rear ended while attempting to make a left turn onto Schindler Way from East Northfield Road.

Levin, of Rydal, Pa., was traveling east around 2:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13 in the left lane on East Northfield Road when her 2011 Audi was struck from behind by Alterric Mosley of Newark.

Stern, of Livingston, was also traveling east on East Northfield Road in the left lane. When she could not slow down, she veered her 1997 Acura into the right lane, striking a 2000 Toyota Camry.

The Camry, driven by Theresa Salesman, 53, of Irvington, was pushed to the curb and flipped onto its roof.

Salesman was transported to St. Barnabas Medical Center where she was treated for minor injuries.

Livingston police issued two summonses to Stern, one for careless driving and one for obstructing passage of another vehicle.
