Vintage Lane Furniture & Home Decor Opens in Caldwell

Beautifully restored furniture, including antique, vintage and mid-century modern pieces

Two women wielding paint brushes are changing the world of home design one piece of furniture at a time.

Furniture restorers and painters Jeanmarie Goldberger and Carolyn Tobin, also known as JM and Carrie, have partnered to move their home businesses into a shop at 5 Provost Square in Caldwell. Vintage Lane, Furniture and Home Décor, located just off Bloomfield Avenue by the Kiwanis Oval and Caldwell Community Center, is stocked with beautifully restored furniture, including antique, vintage and mid-century modern pieces.

All are invited to a Grand Opening celebration planned for Saturday, May 30, at 3 p.m. Come by to toast the new business.

Goldberger and Tobin, both residents of Caldwell, enjoy finding the beauty in furniture many have kicked to the curb, restoring wooden classics and creating new looks with their great eye for color and design. The two also hunt estate sales throughout northern New Jersey where they often pick up furniture as well as mirrors, lamps, and other décor pieces.

Tobin was a home stylist on the West Coast before moving to Caldwell four years ago. She uses Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Wax on all her pieces.

“I can give anything a shabby chic look, but sometimes I like to keep it sleek and elegant,” Tobin says.

Goldberger started refinishing furniture for herself as a hobby about four years ago. Soon her friends started asking her about restoring pieces for them, and a business sprouted by word of mouth.

“We are so grateful to all our wonderful customers and friends who have supported us to take our love of giving vintage and antique furniture a new look to the next step – opening a storefront!” says Goldberger.
