I was nominated for "Story of the Year" by Youth1, which is a media company dedicated to youth sports. A while back, they interviewed me, and I am now a finalist for Story of the Year. If you could, please vote for me! It takes a couple of seconds, and it would mean a lot to me.

Here is an excerpt from the website telling Sydney's story:
"Thirteen-year-old Sydney Becker has shown incredible bravery, character and optimism in the face of a formidable foe greater than any fastpitch softball team could throw at her – bone cancer. Sydney has been the third baseman and one of the top hitters on her travel softball team in Livingston, New Jersey for a couple of years, but in January of 2011 she was suddenly diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, the sixth leading form of cancer among children under the age of 15, after suffering an injury to her left knee during a game.
...Today the remarkable Sydney is months removed from chemo and her post-treatment full body scans have been all clear. She has now gone from laying in hospital beds to reigniting her passion in softball batting cages with her father as she gets ready for the new season. Her trials and tribulations have proven to be an inspiring story for all athletes struggling to find strength through their hardships."
