Want A Summer Job In Livingston? Does Your Teen? Job Fair Coming
Be a lifeguard, work at the camp, or more. Livingston listed its age and training requirements for summer jobs, and will hold a fair.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Supervisors for several summer programs in Livingston will appear at a job fair next month, and the town has begun listing jobs available, including for teens.
The summer job fair will be held Thursday, March 9 from 4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Livingston Senior/Community Center (Lower Level) 204 Hillside Ave.
"Come to our Open House!" the town said in an announcement this week. "Supervisors will be conducting on-site interviews. No appointment needed — just walk in during either session!"

You should bring a completed application and a copy of your school ID. Lifeguards should bring a copy of lifeguard training and CPR/AED Certifications.

Lifeguard Information
People seeking employment as lifeguards at Livingston Community Pools must be certified prior to applying for a summer job. For information about New Jersey locations for American Red Cross classes, new and re-certification students, visit www.njlifeguard.com.
Lifeguards must be available to work every weekend during the pool season and must be available to work through Labor Day Weekend.
Adherence to the attendance policy in the lifeguard handbook is required, including giving required notice for absences.

Age Requirements
Pool employees (lifeguards and snack bar attendants) must be at least 15 by May 1, 2023.
Camp employees must be entering 10th grade in fall of the current calendar year, 2023.
Counselors in Training must be entering 9th grade, fall 2023.
"Working Papers"
Minors under the age of 18 who work in New Jersey must have an employment certificate – also called “working papers.” Livingston will provide the form to employees under 18 who are offered a position and accept, along with other new hire documents. Please note that returning employees under 18 will need to complete working papers each year (even if they were completed previously). More information: Employment Certificates (State of New Jersey)
Availability Requirements
Camp Staff: Will be required to work all six weeks. Vacation days will not be granted. Excused absences may be granted such as: college orientation and/or doctor’s appointment. Proper paperwork is required for these requests with approval from camp director.
Snack Bar: Availability during most weekends throughout the summer is required.
