Livingston, NJ – With the placement of a single beam, the Cooperman Family Pavilion at St. Barnabas in Livingston took a major step forward.
Hospital administrators posted a video of Tuesday night’s topping off ceremony for the new facility, which will feature a floor dedicated to a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and new units on three floors offering all private rooms.
The expansion was partly funded by one of the largest donations to a hospital in New Jersey history, a $25 million grant from the Leon and Toby Cooperman Family Foundation.

“The Cooperman Family Pavilion will be the cornerstone of our campus and essential to creating an all private room hospital so that every patient will experience the dignity and comfort they deserve,” said Stephen Zieniewicz, FACHE, President and CEO, Saint Barnabas Medical Center. “It will be home to a world-class Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a new Surgery Center, new state-of-the-art nursing units and a host of modern and expansive outpatient testing areas."
The Cooperman Family Pavilion is set to open in Summer/Fall of 2017, hospital officials stated.
