Whistleblower Sues NJ Fortune 500 Company For Alleged Retaliation

The former VP claims that Honeywell International hired her to increase diversity, but that she was really used as window dressing.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A former employee is suing Fortune 500 company Honeywell International, which has a corporate headquarters in Morris Plains, for allegedly hiring her to increase diversity but merely using her as window dressing.

According to Essex County Superior Court records, Natasha Chandler of Chester, a former Honeywell vice president, is suing the company for fraud, breach of contract and discrimination.

Chandler claims that Honeywell wooed her from her former job at Merck & Co. in order to “implement diversity strategies.” But after she began to question the sincerity of the company's commitment to remedy past discrimination, Honeywell allegedly terminated her in retaliation, the New Jersey Law Journal reported.

"We believe that Ms. Chandler's case is without merit and Honeywell will defend our position vigorously,” a Honeywell spokesperson told the Law Journal.
