On Sunday morning January 29, the Men's Club at Temple B'nai Abraham held its Annual Sports Breakfast featuring guest speaker former MLB player and manager Willie Randolph. During an 18-year baseball career, Willie Randolph played for six different teams, most notably the New York Yankees. He was a 6-time All-Star at second base and 2-time World Series Champion with the Yankees. Upon retiring as a player, he joined the Yankees as a coach for 11 years. He later served as manager of the New York Mets from 2005 to June 2008. Randolph’s Q & A with the audience delighted those in attendance with his friendly and affable approach.

TBA and Men’s Club members Craig Kantor, Rob Stecklow, Andy Sonnenberg, Evan Mason, Scott Wolfson, Carey Gertler and Mitch Katz served as the event chairs, and Brian Altman is TBA Men’s Club President. Prior to Mr. Randolph taking the stage, attendees were treated to a delicious hot breakfast that members of the Men's Club had prepared.

In progress during the Men’s Club morning event, through a project of recent Bat Mitzvah, TBA student, Ashley Sonnenberg, was a “Dunk Your Kicks” collection of sneakers (in good condition), for adults and children, to benefit the Max Cure Foundation. The Max Cure Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for pediatric cancer research and providing financial assistance to low-income and/or military families who have a child with cancer. One of Max Cure's biggest fundraising initiatives is called Dunk Your Kicks. Through Dunk Your Kicks, MCF collects used sneakers from various donation sources across the country.
