'Roadways Will Remain Slick': Essex County Winter Storm Update

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A winter weather advisory continued in Essex County through Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Previously, it had been extended to 1 p.m. However, a special weather statement has been issued about slick roadways and snow:

"Occasional light snow is expected to continue into the afternoon. There is also a chance for spotty light freezing rain. The precipitation should begin to taper off from west to east after 2 p.m. Additional snowfall accumulation will be light and under an inch. Untreated roadways will remain slick."

Many schools in the area called a delayed opening, while Livingston shifted to closure, as did West Orange.

On Friday, the area is expected to get significant rain again, and possibly snow.
