A Women’s Seder @ TBA

On March 15, Rosh Hodesh Nisan, TBA's Sisterhood joined together with women from the community to participate in a Women's Seder.

Rosh Hodesh is the Hebrew term for the beginning of the month on the Jewish calendar which has evolved into a women’s holiday. Temple B’nai Abraham’s Sisterhood-The Women’s Connection joins together, led by Rabbi Faith Joy Dantowitz, a few times a year to welcome the new month with conversation, learning, spiritual growth, and connection. On Rosh Hodesh, Thursday, March 15, TBA’s Sisterhood-The Women’s Connection joined together with women from the community to participate in Women’s Seder led by Rabbi Faith Joy Dantowitz. Donna Ellenbogen and Deborah Jacob are Co-Presidents, and Sisterhood member Bernice Garbade served as Seder chair.

The Women’s’ Haggadah used in the Passover Seder was compiled from existing and new material by Rabbi Dantowitz and Donna Ellenbogen. Over sixty-five women joined in for a meaningful evening of spiritual awareness before the Passover holiday. A Women's Seder is an opportunity to celebrate the significant role of women in the Biblical story of the Exodus while also viewing the Haggadah through a feminist perspective.
