Work on Schools Underway

Schools out for students, but not for workers who have started making upgrades at Livingston's schools.

Rain today may be a welcome respite from the hot sun, but no matter the weather, workers have been busy this summer making repairs at Livingston's schools.

Windows, roofs, doors and heating-ventilation systems, among other things, are slated to be upgraded or replaced, thanks to the referendum that voters approved in December to make the capital improvements.

Work has begun on roofs at elementary and middle schools, such as at Harrison Elementary School (pictured), which will be replaced and/or repaired in phases. Work on roofs is expected to be completed by the start of school in September.   The Board of Education has on its website a listing of upgrades and improvements that are intended for the various schools.
