Worker Suffers Fatal Heart Attack At Verizon’s Livingston Office, Company Says

A Verizon contractor's employee suffered a fatal heart attack while working at the company's Livingston office, the company said.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A Verizon contractor’s employee suffered a fatal heart attack while working in the basement of the company’s central office at 53 East Mt. Pleasant Avenue in Livingston on Monday, sources say.

Livingston police told Patch that emergency responders gave the male worker CPR after finding him and transported him to Saint Barnabas Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, authorities said.

A Verizon spokesperson provided the following statement about the incident to Patch:

“An employee for a contractor was doing plumbing work in the basement of Verizon's Livingston central office. He suffered a heart attack, received CPR and was transported to the local hospital, but passed away.”
