3 Long Branch Cops Injured In Vehicle Pursuit Accident: Chief
The pursuit began as a drug investigation, police said.
Three Long Branch cops sustained injuries Monday evening from a vehicle accident during a pursuit, said Chief Jason Roebuck. The pursuit related to a drug investigation, in which further details will be released upon completion of that investigation, Roebuck said.
One officer was held for observation overnight at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Two were treated and released from Monmouth Medical Center.
Police found the three suspects' vehicle, but they fled the scene after the accident, according to Roebuck. However, he said police have no reason to believe there is any danger to the public or that the suspects are still in the area.
