3. Starting Monday: Oakwood Avenue to Close for Construction in Long Branch (tapinto.net) — Starting Monday, Sept. 14, drivers in Long Branch should expect weekday closures and detours on Oakwood Avenue between Wall Street and Broadway as construction gets underway. Work will run 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for several weeks, and the city's Department of Public Safety urges motorists to follow posted detours, allow extra travel time, and consider alternate routes.
4. Monmouth University Ranks No. 3 Among the Nation's Colleges Closest to the Beach (monmouth.edu) — Monmouth University has been ranked the nation's No. 3 college closest to the beach, with its West Long Branch campus sitting about a mile from Long Branch's shoreline.
