Join us on Nov 17th from 7 - 8:30pm. West Long Branch Community Center. Where Grief and Relapse Intersect...Is it possible that grief may be a driving force behind recurring relapses? Is it possible that when someone caught in the cycle of addiction confronts their grief, it may mitigate the need for using? These are the questions we will explore at our November meeting. We are happy to welcome Kelly Roman, MA, CPRS, CGBS who bridges the gap between non-clinical professionalism and the heart centered lived experience essential to peer recovery support. With over 12 years of sustained recovery grounded in Buddhist principles, she approaches healing by walking alongside suffering - with dignity, compassion and presence. Holding an MA in Psychology and a Grief and Bereavement Specialist Certification, Kelly integrates academic rigor with practical insight. Her work explores how grief impacts the brain, cultural mourning practices and the application of psychological grief theories in real-world recovery settings. Further informed by her background as a certified recovery coach, Reiki practitioner and end-of-life doula, Kelly’s holistic approach emphasizes compassionate, sustainable practices that honor client well-being and strengthen grief literacy within recovery communities.
Bring a friend or family member - All are welcome!
