LONG BRANCH, NJ — A car drove into the Shrewsbury River at 3 a.m. Tuesday in Long Branch, according to Long Branch Police.

This happened Tuesday morning in Branchport Park.

Police, Long Branch professional fire fighters and Long Branch volunteer fire fighters all responded.

Working as a team, firefighters Nick Saffioti and Tyler Schick entered the water assisting the driver to safety, resulting in no injuries.
