Ken Pecoraro, Addictions Treatment Expert, Honored for Exceptional Service

HONORED at NJAMHAA’s 2016 COURAGE & COMPASSION AWARDS CEREMONY
April 2016, Monmouth County, NJ: Ken Pecoraro, resident of Brick, NJ and Program Coordinator for CPC Behavioral Healthcare’s Addiction Recovery Services program, was recognized by the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies for Outstanding Leadership in Co-Occurring Disorder Services at the organization’s annual Courage & Compassion Awards dinner on Wednesday, April 13th.

Vera Sansone, President and CEO of CPC, praised Pecoraro and his work: “Ken is a highly effective, empathetic leader who is respected by peers, clients and co-workers. He has had incredible outcomes with clients who have not been able to connect with other providers in the past. He has literally saved many lives in the community with his work.”
Each year, NJAMHAA recognizes leaders in the field of behavioral healthcare and addiction recovery services. Pecoraro shared the stage with thirteen other honorees, including The Honorable Frank Pallone who received the Federal Leadership for Health and Wellness Award, Dr. Kenneth Gill of the Rutgers School of Health Related Professions who received the Inspirational Leadership Award and Stephen Stirling of NJ Advance Media, recipient of the Truth in Media Award.

Pecoraro, who holds multiple certifications including LCSW, LCADC and CSS, has over twenty years of experience in the field. He developed his own staff-training program, which is a model for other addiction recovery professionals throughout New Jersey. Pecoraro authored, “Taking the Escalator – An Alternative to the 12 Steps”, a recently released book which has garnered praise in the field. Ken’s ability to communicate clinical information with humor, compassion and in clear language makes him a sought-after presenter about substance abuse and addictions, including the heroin epidemic.
CPC Behavioral Healthcare was founded as a community health provider in 1960.
