Crash Entraps, Seriously Injures Eatontown Woman: Police

MARLBORO TOWNSHIP, NJ — An Eatontown woman was seriously injured Monday night in a Marlboro Township crash, police said. The woman was trapped inside her vehicle and had to be airlifted to the hospital.

Police withheld the 21-year-old's identity pending notifications. The accident took place at about 9:39 p.m. on Route 18 North around Tennent Road. Her 2011 Jeep Wrangler ran off the road for unknown reasons and hit part of a bridge.

The Jeep came to rest on its side. She was flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Marlboro police did not specify the injuries other than that they were "serious."

Route 18 North traffic was closed from 9:39 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. for crash investigation. Marlboro Patrolman David Stattel is investigating the cause of the crash. Anyone with information can contact him at DStattel@marlboropd.org or (732) 536-0304.
