Deer Rescued From The Ocean In Long Branch
The deer did something right: swimming while lifeguards were present.

LONG BRANCH, NJ — Some jobs may force you to buck up for anything. Long Branch police, lifeguards and animal control collaborated to rescue a deer stuck in the ocean.
The deer was first spotted in the water near Rooney's Oceanfront Restaurant, according to police. Officials helped him get to shore unharmed at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park.
The rescue included Class 1 Officers Devon Slavin and Charles Barreda, Animal Control Supervisor Deb Nagel, Beach Supervisor Stan Dzuiba, Beach Rescue members Brian Gleason and Sam MacPherson on jet-skis, and Seven Presidents lifeguards Chester English and Kate Crilly on paddle boards.
