Make Your Dream Retirement a Reality at Seabrook

Jane Veth finds the active lifestyle at Seabrook to be even better than she imagined!

When Jane Veth started exploring her senior living options, the convenient location of Seabrook was a real draw. The Erickson Senior Living community in Tinton Falls, N.J., would make it easy to maintain her friendships and continue her favorite social activities in nearby Lake Como, N.J.

But it was the community's range of on-site activities and social events that motivated her to make the move.

"It's like a college campus--going to [shared] meals, making friends from all over campus, and doing whatever you want every single day," she says. "It's even better than I ever imagined!"

Mike Loftis, Seabrook's sales manager, hears from many residents who, like Jane, find that the community exceeds their expectations.

"They're pleasantly surprised at how much there is to do," he says. "Many people find that they are living their best lives here and say they wish they'd made the move sooner."

So much to do

Jane peruses Seabrook's printed activity schedule each morning to determine her course of action for the day.

"There is so much to partake in. There are endless options of things to do, and they're right where you live. You don't have to leave the community or even go outside to get to the activities," says Jane, noting that buildings on campus are connected via climate-controlled walkways.

Jane particularly enjoys exercising in the fitness center, with its state-of-the-art equipment and experienced staff, who help guide her workouts. She also participates in a variety of group fitness classes, many of which are led by her neighbors. Irish dancing and chair tap dancing are two of her favorites, and she recently added line dancing to her regular schedule.

She's also been seen on the indoor pickleball court and regularly attends evening movies in Seabrook's theater.

On top of that, Jane is a member of the garden club and maintains her own patch in the community garden.

Making connections

While Jane often sees friends from her old neighborhood, she's developed new connections with just as many people at Seabrook.

"When you go to some of these activities and classes, you meet other people you connect with," she explains. "I have a group of about ten friends who meet every Friday. We have snacks and drinks, socialize, and talk about what happened during the week. It's really nice to do that."

When she's ready for dinner, she'll meet friends at one of the community's five restaurants.

They happily choose from a vast selection of entrees, all prepared to order by the community's professional chefs--something she never expected of a retirement community.

"I enjoy the different cultural choices and the chance to try foods I've never tried before," she says.

"And the best part is, I don't have to cook!"

Peace of mind

Jane credits her maintenance-free home and the many on-site services for her vibrant lifestyle.

She first learned about Seabrook more than 20 years ago, when she was looking for a retirement community for her father. "I really looked at Seabrook for my dad, but I always kept it in mind," she says. "The concept is great--everything is taken care of. It gives me peace of mind."

Jane no longer worries about managing her bills. With the monthly service package that covers

maintenance, utilities, meals, and services, she knows what her expenses are.

Convenience is one descriptor she uses often, especially when it comes to amenities and services in the community. She happily does her banking at the branch located at Seabrook and picks up prescriptions at the on-site drug store.

While Jane continues to see her primary care physician, she knows that Seabrook's medical center is there to provide care if she feels unwell or needs to see a specialist. The community's security team, on call 24-7, is another plus.

'The best place'

Jane has enjoyed her six years at Seabrook, and she's always excited to share her positive experiences with incoming residents. She volunteers as a community ambassador, joining prospective residents on tours and meeting with new residents to answer their questions.

Recently, her cousin, a college roommate, a travel mate, and a high school friend all made the move to Seabrook.

"They're just as thrilled as I am to be here," Jane says. "It's the best place to be."
