A construction worker was injured in an incident in Eatontown last week, where he was temporarily blinded by an electric spark, said police.

EATONTOWN, NJ — A construction worker was injured in an incident in Eatontown last week, where he was temporarily blinded by an electric spark, according to the Eatontown Police Department.

This happened at 137 Rt. 35, the former Eatontown Toys R Us building. That building is currently vacant and under construction, but there are unconfirmed rumors it will be an Amazon Fresh store.

At 1:30 last Thursday, July 7, an employee working on electric wiring inside said he experienced temporary loss of sight due to electricity sparking against metal, causing a bright flash.

He was transported to Monmouth Medical Center for further treatment.

His medical status is unknown as of this time.
