Eatontown Man Hit By SUV During Polar Plunge: Police
Police said the man was crossing in a crosswalk; he's listed in stable condition.
An Eatontown man was airlifted after he was hit by an SUV while crossing a street in Seaside Heights on Saturday, borough police said Monday.
The 67-year-old man was crossing at the intersection of Grant and Central avenues about 11:30 a.m. when he was hit by a GMC Arcadia driven by a 56-year-old woman from Pompton Plains, Seaside Heights Detective Steve Korman said.
The accident happened during the time spectators and participants were arriving for Saturday's Polar Plunge.

Korman said the man was in the crosswalk on the south side of the intersection crossing east when he was hit. The GMC was driving west on Grant Avenue and turned left onto Central Avenue, he said.
The man was taken by Tri-Boro First Aid to a landing zone and then airlifted by NorthStar medivac to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was listed in stable condition as of Monday, Korman said.

The accident remains under investigation by Patrolman Joseph DiGiovanni.
