Eatontown Schools Celebrate Students' Achievements

Principals from the four Eatontown schools awarded students for various achievements at Monday's board of education meeting.

The Eatontown Memorial School all-purpose room was standing room only on Monday night as students, friends and families came out for an awards ceremony to recongnize students for their excellence throughout the recent school year.

The Superior Achievement in the New Jersey Mathematics League was awarded to 54 fourth through sixth grade students at Meadowbrook, Vetter and Woodmere schools.

Joseph Schilke of Woodmere, Brina Lloyd of Vetter and Peter Wheaton of Meadowbrook were recognized for their participation in the National Geography Bee.

Gina Pericone of Woodmere, Kassidy Candella-Nagel of Vetter and Anuj Bambhrolia of Meadowbrook were honored for their participation in the National Spelling Bee.

Memorial Middle School students were also recognized for their recent outstanding work. Six students earned the President’s Award for Educational Excellence for earning the High Academic Honor Roll for at least six marking periods of their last two years at the school. The award was signed by President Obama.

Seven students attended the Monmouth County Teen Arts Festival, where they were
acknowledged as some of the best against high school students for their piano solos and instrumental small ensembles.

The district recognized Isabella deAbreu who competed in the regional “Spelldown 2011” and Matthew Schilke who competed in his third consecutive National Geographic Spelling Bee.

The Eatontown American Legion Post 325 announced the top three winners, Petronela Stachelek, Brianna McInerney and Alison Long for their American Legion Annual Safety Essay Contest.

The New Jersey Math League Contest rewarded 10 students for their top scores in seventh and eighth grades

Allison Long won the Suzanne Peterson Writing Reward.

Nine students were chosen to attend the highly competitive Monmouth County Career Academies. In the fall, the students will attend either the Marine Academy of Science and Technology, Communications High School, Academy of Allied Health and Science or Biotechnology High School.
