Nancy Love was the commander of the first women pilots to fly for tyhe U.S. military. Organized into the women's Auxiliary Ferry Squadron at the beginning of WWII, they dared to challenge the 1940's barriers of gender, politics and bureaucracy. By example, she secured the right for the women pilots to ferry complex airplanes across the U.S. She became the first woman to fly the b-17 bomber and the P-51 fighter .
