Stiff competition at the 16th annual Howard Rowland Belmar Lifeguard Tournament
Lifeguards from throughout Monmouth County tested their skills in competition at the 16th annual Howard Rowland Belmar Lifeguard Tournament on Wednesday evening.
Held at the borough's 10th Avenue beach, the event pitted eight lifesaving squads against each other in a tournament featuring nine events.
In the end, Sea Girt prevailed, narrowly edging out Belmar with a one-point margin of victory.
