'Little Women' Comes to Ranney Stage this Week
The Louisa May Alcott classic came to life on Broadway in 2005 and will be revived at the Tinton Falls school beginning Thursday night.
The March sisters will take their places on the Ranney School's stage for three performances of the musical Little Women beginning Thursday night.
Drama students from the Middle and Upper schools will perform in the adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott classic that was first brought to the Broadway stage in 2005. Its original Broadway production starred Maureen McGovern and Sutton Foster and won several Tony and Drama Desk awards.
Performances are March 24, 25 and 26 at 7 p.m. in Panther Hall. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door prior to the performance.

Music from the show is by Jason Howland (conductor of Les Miserables and Jeckyll & Hyde). Victorian costuming and elaborate sets help bring the classic American tale to life.
Little Women in the first play in Ranney's 2011 Spring Musical Series. Led by the performing arts faculty, the theater program supports cross-curricular learning by highlighting literature students encounter in the language arts program. Drama students from all division will perform in Captain Louie on May 6.
