Long Branch Bar Charged With Violating Coronavirus Orders

LONG BRANCH, NJ — A Long Branch bar was charged with violating State coronavirus orders after allowing customers to eat or drink on the premises, according to the New Jersey Office of Attorney General.

The Buteco Sports Bar faces suspension of their liquor license for at least 10 days. The incident took place March 30, according to documents from the OAG.

Governor Phil Murphy ordered the closure of bars and prohibited dine-in service at restaurants March 16. Table and bar service is prohibited, and alcohol "to go" must be in sealed original containers. Read more: NJ Coronavirus: Bars, Restaurants, Theaters To Shut

The State's Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control has charged 20 bars, restaurants, breweries and liquor stores with violating coronavirus orders.

Monmouth County has reported 382 coronavirus cases in Long Branch and 6,376 cases countywide as of Monday morning. State officials have reported 382 deaths in Monmouth County as of Monday morning.
