Long Branch, Eatontown Each Get $350K+ Roadwork Grants

The state announced hundreds of municipal aid grant awards for the 2020 fiscal year.

LONG BRANCH, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Transportation announced hundreds of improvement projects, including work in Long Branch and Eatontown.

Long Branch earned a grant worth $351,123 for work on Woodgate Avenue as part of the City of Long Branch 2020 Road Improvement Program. Eatontown will receive a $370,294 grant for Pinebrook Road improvements.

The Municipal Aid grant awards totaled $161.25 million for the upcoming fiscal year, serving 542 New Jersey cities and towns. Monmouth County received $12,918,558 in that allotment.

"Our administration sought to deliver a fairer approach to how government does business and this round of grants will, in the third straight year, reach more municipalities than in the previous fiscal year," Governor Phil Murphy said in a statement.
