Long Branch Man Pleads Guilty To Possession And Distribution Of Child Porn

U.S. Attorney's Office says Donald Haring possessed and distributed images of child sexual abuse.

A Long Branch man pleaded guilty to the possession and distribution of child pornography involving child sexual abuse, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman said.

Donald Haring, 61, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Freda L. Wolfson in
Trenton federal court on Wednesday. Haring admitted he used a home computer to share images and videos of child sexual abuse with members of a publicly-available file sharing network. He also admitted to possessing at least three videos and 600 images of child sexual abuse.

He could face up to 20 years in prison, with a minimum of five years, a fine of $250,000 and up to a lifetime of supervised release. He is slated to be sentenced on Oct. 7.

Haring also agree to give up a Sytemax desktop, a Toshiba 500 external hard drive and a Western Digital hard driver, according to the indictment.

Fishman credited special agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs
Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), under the direction of Special
Agent in Charge Terence S. Opiola, with the investigation leading to today’s guilty plea.
The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan M. Peck of the U.S.
