Long Branch Middle School Holding Spelling Bee Finals

Winner will move on to Spelldown Regional Spelling Bee later this year

Long Branch Middle School will crown its best speller this month as the school hosts its 2012 Spelling Bee Final.

The spelling bee will be held on Jan. 24 at 9:30 a.m. in the Long Branch Middle School auditorium.

Thirty students will participate in the spelling bee but only one will move on to the Spelldown Regional Spelling Bee later this year.

The bee is traditionally is held at Monmouth University in March, and features the best spellers from schools in Monmouth and Ocean County. The winners of that competition move on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. in June.
