Long Branch Opens Warming Center

Long Branch residents caught in the cold finally have a place to go. The St. James Church (300 Broadway) will serve as a warming center from 6 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday, Mayor John Pallone announced.

Donuts and coffee will be served at the church. Contact Lisa Wilson of the Family Success Center at 732-571-1670 x302 if you would like to volunteer. Monmouth County issued a Code Blue Alert that runs from Tuesday to 7 a.m. Sunday.

Several residents came to last week's City Council meeting and pled to politicians to open a warming center in Long Branch.
