Long Branch PD De-escalates Situation With Potentially Armed Man
The man decided to leave the house and was taken to the hospital, police said.
LONG BRANCH, N.J. — Long Branch officers de-escalated a situation in which a potentially armed man refused to leave a 6th Avenue house Wednesday morning, police said.
Officers went to the house to check well being. The person in crisis refused to come outside, and police said they had several reasons to believe he may have been armed.
Crisis negotiations commenced. The man then decided to come out and was taken to the hospital to receive treatment, police said.

"Great job by the officers on the scene, they used their training to keep themselves and the subject safe from harm," said Chief Jason Roebuck.
