Long Branch School Gets A New View Of The Nation
AT&T employees paint map of United States at Lenna W. Conrow School blacktop
Until this week, the blacktop outside the Lenna W. Corow School in Long Branch was a blank slate.
Now, it has been gotten a touch of color and design from AT&T employees who have volunteered their time for a special project.
On Tuesday morning, 25 AT&T sales employees painted a large map of the United States on the blacktop as part of a grassroots project.

Sales Vice President Philip R. Towle said the sales staff was not required to do the project but felt they wanted to do something for the community.
"We had company picnic at Monmouth Park, and we were going to do this project on the same day, but the weather did not cooperate, so we rescheduled for today," Towle said.

Towle said the group had picked the Long Branch School District because of its proximity to Monmouth Park and because one member of the sales team is from the area.
The workers first laid down eight large pieces of paper that had holes in the shape of country and the outline of its 50 states. The workers then spray painted the holes and removed the paper to reveal a large outline the map. Workers then spent the next few hours painting each state.
Towle said this is the first time he and his employees had ever done this project, but that it was an experience he enjoyed and would do again in the future.
