Man Gets 25 Years For Sexually Assaulting Toddler In Long Branch
The Bloomfield man pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault and possessing child sex assault images regarding 2017 incidents.
LONG BRANCH, NJ — A man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Friday for assaulting a toddler in Long Branch and possessing explicit sexual images of her. Jaime Mauricio Leon pleaded guilty to the June 2017 incidents in April.
A witness saw Leon and an unnamed female committing sexual acts upon a child through a window and reported it to police June 16, 2017. The witness said the child looked asleep. Investigation revealed the couple provided her with sleeping medication so they could commit sexual assault.
Leon, 34, was arrested at his workplace in Fort Lee on June 23, 2017. The female codefendant knew the child. Her charges are still pending.

During the guilty plea, Leon admitted he and the female planned the attack on the child through texting. He confirmed that he had sexually explicit images and a video of the child that the woman sent him the day before the assault. Authorities recovered the texts, images and video from Leon's phone.
Leon, of Bloomfield must serve the full 25-year sentence without parole. Upon release, when he is 57, he must register under Megan's Law and be on parole supervision for life.
