Man Tried To Lure Ocean Twp. Girl, 11, Online, Say Prosecutors

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Rhode Island man is in federal custody after he met an 11-year-old New Jersey girl online and attempted to lure her to engage in sexual activity, U.S. Attorney Zachary Cunha said Monday.
He was arrested after a joint investigation by the FBI and Ocean Township Police, so the 11-year-old girl is likely from Ocean Township.
The man, Jeffrey Lock Slinn, 42, is from Warwick, Rhode Island. He was arrested Oct. 26 and charged with attempted enticement of a minor and transfer of obscene material to a minor.

Prosecutors say Slinn used various online accounts to communicate with several underage girls.
Beginning in July 2023, he started exchanging in sexually explicit messages with the 11-year-old Ocean Township girl, prosecutors said. Prosecutors said Slinn attempted to get the girl to engage in sexual conduct, and he exchanged sexually explicit photos and videos with her.

As of Monday, Slinn remains detained in federal custody.
